About Voop

Voop is a safeguarding platform built specifically for the care sector — helping protect the most vulnerable children from online harm. Voop helps prevent children from going missing, protect them from exploitation, and improve their digital wellbeing by closing the digital safeguarding gap for children who need it most.

The challenge

Voop wanted to understand if a reduced version of their care product would also resonate as a consumer product for parents, and set out to explore the motivations, anxieties, and trade-offs that come with the decision of handing a smartphone to their child — as well as where current products and tools fall short.

They needed the depth of qualitative research, but at the speed of a fast-moving product team.

The solution

Enalio ran two parallel AI-powered interview studies with UK parents: one with parents whose children already had a smartphone, and one with parents whose children did not.

In total, we completed 104 in-depth interviews, representing around 19 hours of parent conversation. From study design to finished report: two days.

Each interview was conversational, while still following a consistent research framework. Both groups explored the same core terrain: motivations, concerns, boundary-setting strategies, attitudes toward digital safety tools, and what would make parents feel more confident.

What the client received

Live results dashboard

As interviews completed, our AI annotation pipeline automatically surfaced common themes across all 104 transcripts, with quotes and evidence linked back to the specific participants who said them. Voop could explore emerging patterns and use virtual group chats to examine respondent perspectives by theme — interrogating the data, not just reading it.

Interactive intelligence report

Voop received a structured synthesis comparing both parent groups, including key themes, demographic comparisons, group differences, strategic recommendations, and messaging implications for different types of parents.

The report was not a static document. Voop could ask it questions, follow threads, and get answers grounded in the evidence: what parents fear, what they are willing to pay for, what existing tools are missing, and how different parent segments respond to different propositions.

Why it mattered

Enalio gave Voop the depth of qualitative customer exploration at a speed that fits how product teams work — helping them understand not only what parents need, but how to speak to different types of parents more effectively.

“We were amazed by how quickly we received the results, and by the depth of the report that came back to us. It really helped us understand the different mindsets and parenting styles that shape how families approach the smartphone decision, and how differently those conversations play out depending on the parent and the age of the child. Having access to such in-depth insight has helped us define our next steps as a business and a brand, and we are excited to explore what comes next.”
